Woke up this morning and...

Noca - May 1

I woke up this morning at 8:30am (having had 7.5 hours of sleep) and I felt well rested!! I for the first time in a month (this happens about once a month) I woke up and wasn't extremely exhausted.

I didn't change any drugs or anything. I went to bed at 12:30pm. I have no idea why this happens, but I'd really like to replicate it for every day. I might actually have a life if i wasn't so exhausted every moment of the day.

Anyone have any ideas as to why this happened or what happened? (normally sleep 8-11 hours waking up feeling exhausted)

Noca - I'm so Rough day here with rain and humidity. Feels like someone took a hammer to my joints.

Getting back to your question - just a fluke I think. I think you know that FMS interrupts the deep sleep cycle with short bursts of high intensity brain activity. Apparently, you had the night off. I have the same thing happen to me about once a year. I wake up feeling "normal" and rested. Enjoy it while it lasts is my advice to you. Have a good weekend!

Wow Noca, congrats on the great nights sleep!!!!
I can't remember the last night I got more than 3-4 hrs sleep, much less feeling rested after waking. I have to agree with Fantod that it's most likely a fluke and just enjoy all the flukes that you get;)
Wishing us all some flukes, Patty:)

The same thing happens with me every few weeks or so. I can go 3 or 4 days with just 7hrs sleep and feel well rested and I won't need to nap. But alas, it doesn't last. Sometimes I'm more tired with 9-10hrs sleep. Like last week. I went to bed at 5:30a.m. and was up by 11am. It was rough getting out of bed but other than that I felt fine. Good question.

It happened two more times. I feel happy I think. I dont remember what it is like to be normal, been depressed for soo long. My depression seems to be in full remission, but I don't know if I'm going manic or not.

I've never been diagnosed as bipolar and this is the first I've felt like this. I've been happy for the past 3 weeks, minus a few things that got me down. I'm not complaining, I've always wanted to feel happy and well rested on a normal person's amount of sleep.

I am only getting 2- 3 hrs sleep a night, and I am so exhausted in the morning

Noca - Good for you! I've noticed a change in your outlook since you first starting participating on this board. Stay positive and enjoy feeling well rested.

Sounds like your body is doing the opposite of what's "normal".

What I mean is that people who have no problem sleeping and always enter into deep restorative sleep, do have nights when they don't. But, for us, that's every day. So, your body is sometimes entering that deep sleep cycle - which is awesome!

I would just take it as a blessing, like the days when our pain is less and flare-free. It's difficult to associate these occurrences with something we did or didn't do because they are totally random, like the sharp, electrifying pains we feel for seemingly no reason at all.

OK Noca, try to remember what you ate in the last few days, and if you took any special something. What you did. Then try to recreate it, without thinking about to much so you won't stress out. It might work.

I think the last time I had the same feeling was a few months ago..... I'd love to know, what I did then, but to my knowledge there was nothing I did different....
