night Sweat

Hello All. Me again. Does any of you suffer from night sweats? I wake often (like most of you) and everytime, I wet from head to toe. Sweat pours off of me. Anyone else has that?

Myriam - Profuse sweating is a pretty common side effect of Fibromyalgia (FMS). Some of us "mist" more than others. I seem to have my episodes mostly during the day but every so often I'll have to get up in the middle of the night and change. Just to be safe, you should probably get your hormone levels checked to be sure nothing else is going on. Take care.

My mother who is in menopause night sweats a lot from what she tells me. But I guess its another symptom in the fibromyalgia basket. I have night sweats if I wear any shirts while I sleep. I sleep better in the months when its cold then I do in the summer.

I have a lot of problems with my body temperature. I should say right off back that I have had a hysterectomy when I was 26 and so for the past two years I have already went through the changes us woman go through.
I know the vicodin that I take for pain can cause me to break out in a sweat. Or I think it is the meds, that is what I link it too. But I have that problem at night as well! I have a fan on me at all times while in the bed and sleep with a sheet. Sometimes that is too much. And my doc said my hormones are fine. So, I understand how you feel. Just another lovely Fibro symptom!

I am 23 years old and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 10 months ago. Ever since I have been taking all of these medications, I have had really bad night sweats. I wake up drenched in sweat, and then get really bad chills. I take Cymbalta and one of the symptoms is increased sweating, so I'm assuming that may be what's causing it.

My main problem with the sweating is the odor that comes with it. Before I starting taking all of these medications, my sweat did not have an odor. But now it's an odd odor. The only thing I could even get close to comparing it to is melted butter with a small amount of garlic in it. Even though it doesn't smell exactly like that, that's the only thing I can think of to describe the smell. And since I have the night sweats, my sheets, covers, pillows, etc. (whatever my body touches) has the strong odor of my sweat, so I'm having to wash everything very often.

Does anybody else have the same problem as far as the odor goes?
