Hi all - I'm new to this board and hoping for some answers. I've had a frozen shoulder (left side) issue in the past and had 2 cortisone shots plus physical therapy. That issue was cleared up over a year ago. I started having muscle pain in the same arm about 2 months ago - not the shoulder but the upper arm area. Using a heating pad and massage seems to help some. I can't sleep on that side at all. Then last night my right arm started aching and I feel very "tight" across my shoulders/neck area. Just got back from a 9 miles bike ride and that always helps. I haven't been to a doctor yet with this issue. I'm too young to feel this damn old! Just turned 53 on 9/9! Does this sound like fibromyalgia or lupus or what? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi, like you Im new to. You do not have to have fibro to have a frozen shoulder,my DH has the same, but he does not have Fibro. Maybe you need to see your Dr for a check up and ask him. I must be honest though, I dont think I know of anyone that could do a bike ride that long who has fibro. Im not saying im right or wrong. But ask your Dr what he/she thinks. Jorja.xxxx

Hi regions, I also have muscle pain in my upper arms at times. I did have a tear in my left rotar cuff and had to have physical therapy and continued exercises for this. I couldn't sleep because of the pain. It took about four weeks of therapy, two times a week. Ultrasound heat and ice helped. It could be fibro if you have upper and lower pain on both sides. You should see a rheumatologist to get diagnosed. Hope this helps.
