I live in the uk and would like to know if I would be able to claim D L A? I suffer from FMS, I had to give up work two years ago. I am heavely drugged and can not see me being able to work in the near future. I would appreciate any help that you can offer. Many thanks Tracy

I live in the UK and have had FMS for nearly 4 years. Trying to get DLA is a long drawn out process. I found that the do not recognise FMS as something which stops you from working. It pays to keep persevering with all the paperwork. I did win in the end. Good luck

Hi Christine. Thanks for your advice. Can I ask what medication you are taking? What releif does it give you. I find that my meds only take the edge off it.

Hi there...just picked up this thread. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and am in the process of taking early retirement on grounds of ill-health. I applied for DLA in October 2005. After a particularly unhelpful report from the Medical Servies doctor I have askd for a reconsideration - still awaiting the result on that. I take tramadol 50mg 4 times daily although have taken it up to 6 times daily for pain relief. work.
