I have recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and have been off work since March because of it, but I am on a sick leave. My sick leave is running out and I don't think that I am able to go back to work full time right now, I am going threw a flare up right now, and the stress of wondering what I am going to do doesn't help. I am limited on the hours I can work because my husband works midnights, and I have two kids. I don't know how I am suppose to handle working 8 hour shift after being up all day with my kids who are 3 & 1 then getting home in just enough time to force myself to sleep praying that the kids sleep in a little. I mean right now I have a hard time looking after my kids and keeping a house clean. lol..
Its difficult, when your in pain and have so much on your plate. I don't know what I am suppose to do. Is there dissability? And if there is can anyone help with the steps to be taken?
I appoligize for any rambling and typos! I am just going a little crazy tonight.

Hello Vinniek - I am very sorry to read about your situation. Have you spoken to the Human Resources department where you work. They should be able to help you with your worries. They may have a disability plan for employees.

You sound young so I doubt you would get anything from Social Security disability. Look on your most recent Social Security statement and it will tell you what you might expect to get as a disabled person. If you decide to go that route, use Allsup to help you file the claim. You can find their website online. They win about 98% of the claims which is extremely high. They do all of the paperwork. I'm using them and they are great to deal with.

Right now, I am stongly suggesting you go and speak to your employer about your situation. You can get a note from your doctor to back you up. I would hope that your employer will try to accomodate you in some way. Take care and let us know how you are doing.

Well I spoke with my employer today, he told me that he had to offer me my position back that I left from, but thats all he has for me, there is nothing part time or not shortened hours. So looks like my only other option is to look for a new job. :(

Google "family leave act" and the name of your state. Also google the "Americans with Disabilities Act." Your employer may be legally required to accomodate you. Good luck and take care.

Vinniek, I feel for you. Goodluck and best wishes for you. Y ou really do have a full plate and dealing with pain on top of it all really overloads your plate.
