New to Forum - & a little info

trippsmom - January 29

Greetings. Am new to the forum. Very basically; have a near crippling level of FMS. Have lost nearly everyone in my life (my daughter just posted on FB last night about how I don't need prescription meds - for all to see, of course!) including my marriage. Like most, I have other things like DDD, OA, failed-back-surgery syndrome, compressed nerve roots from L-2 to L-5/S-1, shrinking spinal chord, etc., etc. I WAS a Professor of Sociology w/ my work being in the emphasis of medical. I have VERY little support in my life and always have an open ear and heart. Thought I'd post one of my favorite links that includes closest to the most finite list of what we can suffer from (contrary to those great Lyrica commercials that make everyone think we simply have a little muscle pain and 1 pill will fix it [made me legally blind when I took it 3 years ago!]): altmedangel.com/fibromya.htm

Gentle Hugs to all ;))

trippsmom - Welcome to the forum. I am very sorry to read about your situation. I am divorced too after 22 years of marriage. My ex made no attempt to understand this syndrome and insisted to the end that I am able to work. I was disabled in 2007 and get SSD. I understand your feeling of isolation. I also have degenerative disc disease (stenosis), and advanced OA. I use a wheelchair sometimes.
