Has your doctor done any x-rays or mris to find out what is causing this to happen? Glucosamine builds and maintains cartilage, tendons and other connective tissues in the body by acting as a building block for these materials and inhibiting enzymes that destroy cartilage. When the body does not have an adequate supply of glucosamine, arthritis – most commonly osteoarthritis – can develop.
It is not going to take the pain away. You may want to see what your doctor can do about tests and what you can take for the pain.

i developed bad knees overnight after some strenous walking. arthoscopic surgery didn't help and nothing else has either. i'm at my wit

I guess just about anything goes with FMS, with me it is my hips and shoulders. I know my trigger points are on my knee caps rather then on the sides same with my elbows. Have you tried any kind of topical pain releivers I have found temporary relielf from them and when in miserable pain any break is welcomed. Have you discussed heat or ice for the knees with your doctor?

some days I cannot walk because my knees are so painful.. my doctor told me it was the FM. whirlpool has helped relieve some of the pain .. and massage helps too. but somedays nothing works. the doctor has given me pain medication for the really bad days....take care
