I was wondering if anyone attends a support group. There are so many people in my small town that has fibromyalgia, I was thinking about starting a support group. Let me hear from you if you attend a support group and how you get one started.

We do have one here but I never get to the meetings because they are held too far away from me. We used to have a CFS support group but now there are just socials a few times a year which I don't find useful. You would need to choose a meeting place that is central and available on an on-going basis. Call people you know who have fibro and asked them if they would be interested in starting a group. You can sometimes advertise for free on community tv stations or post messages on community websites. In Canada we have Craigslist. You will need a leader and someone who has experience moderating a group discussion otherwise you will find that a few people do all the talking and others never speak.
