I'm almost seventeen and going into sixth form in september which leaves my mum, who has Fibromyalgia, alone at home with my, almost, 5 year old brother. Now this sounds mildly okay but considering the walk to his school is down hill and he has ADHD its another stress on her mind. My other family members live quite far away, and I don't think they are takeing my mum's pain seriously. I'm worried about haveing to be late for lessons and takeing my brother to school and the leaving school early to pick them up, but my mum is adament that I go. My mum has found that the GP is not takeing her seriously either which leaves us kind of in limbo. I'm really confused, so I'd like a little advice on how I can help without missing lessons and finding some kind of support from someone who can take this sort of thing seriously.

I can feel a bit for your mum. I am 41 yrs old and recently diagnosed with FM. I have a 5 yr old son who is very active. You might be able to help your mom by getting your brother up and ready to go before you leave in the morning so that all she has to worry about is getting him to school. Have him dressed and eating breakfast as your mom is trying to kick start her day. She is a lucky lady to have someone as supportive as you.
