Hi guys, Well, I've developed a new symptom. At night I am congested and blowing my nose and sneezing. 24 hour antihistamines worked for a while but no longer. I think I'm allergic to dust mites but I don't know so I am going to get tested. Who knows how long it will be to see an allergist. I'm also going to get tested for food allergies. I'm also thinking that it could be a drug called ropinerole that I'm taking that could be causing this. Trouble is, I have to take it for Restless Leg Syndrome otherwise I can't get the sleep I need. I don't really know what to do, I'm reading books on allergies but I'm mostly just very upset at having yet another symptom. After sixteen years of this crap I thought I'd seen it all but it never ceases to amaze me how it just keeps getting worse. I need some support. Thanks in advance.

kvc33 - I'm really sorry to read about your new symptom. I'm sure it is really annoying because most of us never get enough sleep to begin with. You might try a couple of simple fixes while waiting to see the allergist. Get a new matress pad and pillow covers that are for people with allergies. Vacuum your mattress throughly too. That may help with some of your symptoms.

I understand how frustrated that you are having had new problems crop up myself. Just when I think I have everything more or less under control, everything goes haywire again. The key thing to remember is that you are not alone in your feelings. At least we have one another to commiserate with when we feel bad. Take care and feel better.

Thanks Fantod. I've done a lot of cleaning in my room and did get a new pillow and medical grade pillow protector. Soaked all bedding in hot water for an hour. Nothing I've done has made any difference. Slept at my bf's last night in a room made with hardwood floors. Still had the symptoms.

Hi kvc33,

I'm sorry to hear about your sneezing and congestion at night. I do have allergies, so I know what it's like. Did you just start using your heat for the first time this season? Sometimes there is a lot of dust that builds up in the ducts when you're not using the heat and then when you turn it on, the dust goes all throughout the house.

Do you use any nasal sprays? I use prescription veramist but sometimes afrin OTC helps me. I hope that you feel better soon!

Try running an air purifier in your room, I got 2 that run all day/night cause my allergies are bad.
