Why do we have to find our own answers?

I have been receicently be diagnosed with uterine polyps. I have been experiencing HORRID Pain leading up to my period. I have been laid up now for 3 days with a diagnosis of sciatica..... No Dr. that is not it. I tried to speak to my GYN but that lovely lady told me to go back to my primary care dr. So here I am looking for answers for myself. This is what I found so far... Secondary Dysmenorrhea! I have been researching and found that this is a common symptom of fibromyalgia. I see with the symptoms how that dr I say thought it was sciatica, but I was trying to tell him about the other symptoms and that it seems to be getting worse with every period. So I am not a dr but I do fit into these symptoms so Monday I will see about getting in with a GYN and getting to the bottom of this. Does anyone else have these problems?

I started getting fibro symptoms in Oct 05 but thought they would wear off, but when they did not, i went to see a doctor in May 06. The first one was shocked that i had been for so long, but the second doctor said it was obesity causing the pain, even though the BMI index says 140lb is healthy for someone 5ft 3in tall. I did some research of my own, ruling out arthritis and the like quite quickly, and i found fibromyalgia, but it took until this January for a rhuematologist to realise that my symptoms matched. Either it was ignorance on the second doctor's part or she mistook me for a sterotypical teen, but dismissal seems to happen a lot.
