has anyone ever been told by a doctor that you are only seeking pain meds and that fibro is not real? how do you handle that/

Go to a Rheumatologist. We don't need smart mouthed doctors to treat us so find another one.

the first rheumy i went to said it was called something else i cannot remember the name.. but it meant it was all in my head...
she never even touched me.... or any of the trigger points..
the second rheumy i went to believed me as did my primary doc and cardioloigst and endocrinologist.
find a good rheumatologist who will believe in you.
it makes me so angry these docs..

Yep I had a pain management doctor tell me I was an addict, I would like to know to what because at the time all he was giving me were injections of lidocaine...it didn't work so I wasn't exactly sure what he was talking about. I felt like hitting him so he felt an ounce of what I was feeling but then I realized that would be sinking to his level...
