Water Therapy?

I asked my Rheumetologist about water therapy and I have my evaluation on Tuesday. Has anyone else tried this? The thing I'm most concerned about is the temp of the water. I've heard the water is pretty warm. I have problems with the swelling in my feet and ankles, and heat and humidity bother me soooo much!

well, I have had 5 water therapy sessions. I am feeling better. THe water is between 92 -96 degrees. It's amazing how easy it is to move in the water. I think this is what I need to be able to get myself more physically active. I have also connected with a few people and we may start meeting every so often to share our stories. and problems. I would reccommend this to anyone who has trouble getting in any kind of exercise!

I highly recommend water therapy! I actually look forward to getting in the water and doing my exercises/stretches. Are you going to have a physical therapist show you some things to do in the water? That helped me a lot. Good luck!

Yes, I am doing this through a physical therapy place. They also offer a self pay program, once you get discharged. A PT assistant is in the water and you have acess to all the water therapy "toys" for an hour. Like you I love getting in the water. I am about 125 lbs overweight, so I dredded putting on a swimsuit. But I love being able to move painfree, and it gives me some exercise, and I actually think that in time, I'll be able to exercise on my own at home.
