Water (swimming pool) hurts my leg. Anyone else?

For the past 2 summers I have not been able to get into the swimming pool because it hurts my right leg so much. I have recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and was wondering if anyone else has the same problem. I get the weirdest looks as many tell me the water should make my back and leg pain better not worse. I have been wondering if maybe it’s the chemicals in the water and not the water but not so sure.

Thanks

Hi Cinndergirl: Yes, the claims are to swim and it will take the pain down to lower levels however, I did go swim and I did this every other day for about 4 weeks to see if it would help. I found that I was in more pain and it did not help me at all. I love to swim being an active person as I once was and suddenly you can't do this anymore is devistating but you have to keep fighting no matter what. I will suggest to you to keep a diary of your pain, do stretching exercises every day, although most of us do slip ont this at times, I do, but this will help keep your muscle stretched and to help control the pain. Do not stop moving.......Hugs Happy Holidays.
