Unemployment while filing for disablity

Hi everyone

I filed unemployment in Illinois, when I certified for the first two weeks,(over the phone)
there was a question, have you filed for disablity. I said no. I am working with Alsup, I have not had my 1 hour call from the claims dept. That is scheduled Friday 12/17...so officially I have not entered a claim for disablity. I have just inquired about it with Alsup, they suggested I tell the truth, because the federal govt will check wih the state. My assigned representive will address the issue in more detail on Friday...I cannot tell the state I can work, and tell federal I cannot work.....Does anyone know if I will still be able to collect unemployment? The next time I certify, I will most likely tell them I am filing for disabiltiy....In two weeks I will likely have to take a trip to the unemployent office...and I will know for sure....If I collect unemployment, while filings for disablity, would thie affect the outcome of my disability claim? I like to be prepared, but this is somehting, that I cannot control. Nothing like being between a rock and a hard space.

Any insight would be appreciated. I am not out to use the system..however it looks like (at the moment) I will not be able to collect unemployment, while filing a disablity claim.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Can the state deny me unemployment??

I think the best source of information will be Allsup. I did a bit of reading about your situation using Google. There seem to be varying opinions about what is appropriate as you are giving two agencies conflicting information about your ability to work. Good luck and take care.
