The back of my head keeps pounding

iliveinpain - May 2

For a week now, just at the top of my neck, where it meets the end of my skull, only on the right side, it hurts. Like, not a headache, but just pain, localized right in one spot. It'll go away for hours at a time and then it'll come back and like, pound, throb, whatever, and then go away. It's more of a nuisance really, it's not horrible. It's not even a headache, but it's annoying already. If I go to a doctor, it'll be more tests, and I'm sick of that. Has anyone else experienced this at all?

Hi iliveinpain, I have been sufferig with that for about 6 years so I know how you feel. When I get this pain it really knocks me. I was taking Lyrica for it cus I was told it was a trapped nerve.(I put on so much weight I had to quit taking it) Then, about 3 years ago I had it injected with cortosone. (I think) It helped for a while but I still get it now and again. My physio also gave me exercise to do for when I get the pain. Posture has a lot to do with it aswel. I find if I'm slouching it comes on, or if I am stressed.
That may not be any help to you but I know how you feel. Take care.
