Tender points - tender on every person?
9na - August 9

I've tried myself to press my tender points, and it doesn't feel good.
Yesterday i tried pressing some of the points on my husband, and he felt pain, too. He does NOT have fibro though, he has absolutely no symptoms...

So does everyone feel pain if only they are pressed hard enough? Is the amount of pressure needed to 'create' pain the key here? and how do I know how hard to press?

Probably a strange question, but I'm not seeing a doctor again for a looooong time, so I thought I'd do some research on my own ;) (I have no diagnosis yet...)

Hi 9na! Pain in all four quadrants are one of the criteria for FMS. Some of the points are painful to me, some are just tender. I have myofascial pain, which is common with some FMS folks. I found the book FIBROMYALGIA FOR DUMMIES very helpful in my own diagnosis. Now I am thrilled with Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum's, FROM FATIGUED TO FANTASTIC. 85% natural supplements and no meds unless necessary. I am off all meds now, except for Lunesta (sleep) and Synthroid (thyroid)! I still get tired/hot, but I feel that I'm way better off than a year ago! Keep reading/researching! Hugs!
