Sweating

Monica Cassels - April 11

I'm 63 years old, and the hot flashes often associated with menopause are getting much worse instead of better. I sweat profusely, then feel cold as the perspiration evaporates. What can I do to improve the situation? Oestrogen/progesterone treatment does nothing, and is not recommended in my type of case.

I have the same thing and sleep with towels in the bed. I can have from 1-3 per night. I think it has something to do with FMS as this only started when I started feeling the symptoms of FMS. One other thing to check is your thyroid. Night sweats are also symptoms of underactive thyroid (which I have). It's really the pits having night sweats and I certainly feel for you - it really disturbs your sleep and you wake up feeling tired. I hope you find some relief

one point .... underactive thyroid makes one cold all the time
it is an overactive thyroid which produces sweat ing and intolerance to heat.

High blood pressure can also produce sweating. I would get checked out to see what was going on. Have you tried Estradiol Patch a hormone replacement therapy?
