Stabbing paine
1 Replies
Diane - May 2

Ever since my mastectomy, I have had stabbing pains all over my body. I take Neurontin to try to control them but, lately, nothing seems to help. Is this a symptom of Fibro? I have been dx'd with Fibromyalgia

Dear Diane, I am not sure if the mastectomy can cause the pain you are describing, but, FMS can be anywhere at anytime on your body. Try soaking in Epsom Salt (it has magnesium in it) and rubbing yourself down with Aspercreme. Also, buy one of those Bed Buddy heat packs that go in the microwave that have rice in them. Put them on the places you hurt. Keep moving as much as you can to not get so stiff. Stretch out as much as you can and relax. Diane, I have find that any kind of infection or surgery does flare up the FMS in my body. It is possible that the mastectomy could have flared up the FMS and it is taking a while to calm down your "flare-up". Stay away from caffeine & sugar as much as you can. Hope these things help. Also, take a magnesium supplement. Praying for you right now.
