soar achey shoulder blade

Hello,

Does anyone suffer from soarness and acheness on the shoulder blade? I've been suffering from this for months, when I sleep if I lay on my left side it feels very uncomfortable almost like my muscles are swollen because I can feel like a lump around where your shoulder and rib meet its even soar around the breast bone area. At night I usually try to sleep on my right side but then it feels like my left arm falls asleep. This is so frustating I'm always second guessing if it's something else. My doctor put me on anti -depressant (nytropyline) to try to sleep at night but seems like it's not helping. I wake every morning so soar I'm starting to feel like the nights are the worst, why is it that the muscles feel worst at night? Also sometime I even feel like my chest is tight an achey is this from FMS also.......If anyone has any suggestion please let me know...I'm so glad to hear from other people that are going through the same thing.

Hi,

I am sorry to hear that you are not getting any relief for your shoulder. I also have pain in shoulder and neck. Mine is partially due to my job. I have found that using a combination of things help depending on the pain level. Number one you need to get sleep at night. If the med your Dr. gave you is not effective, try another. Two, Lidocaine pain patches and pain gel also work well, they are prescription only. Ask your Dr.if they would be okay for you. Third, heat packs you can buy over the counter also work great. They have adhesive and can be put where you need them and lst any where from 8 to 12 hours. Also try an ice pack if pain is really bad. And Forth, talk to your doctor about a muscle relaxer for bed time. There are many, and definately try them when you don't have to work the next day. You mayfind that just have the perscription dose is good.

Good Luck,
Opera Girl
