Severe leg pain hip and buttox pain
2 Replies
Kellie - November 21

I have had fibro for roughly 2 years, it started with viral meningitis and I never recovered. I had severe headaches, neckpain, upper back and arm pain. I rarley had pain in other areas apart from stiff legs. After a lot of stretching, smimming and walking I finally beat the headaches and neckpain but I am now experiencing severe lower back, hip and leg pain. It has me in tears and nothing seems to releive it. My doc said its part of fibro but as I havn't had these symptoms before I am worried it could be something else. Is it normal for fibro pain to move from one area to another. Please advise someone I am desperate and worried.

My pain started mainly in my arms. After 6 months it started moving into my neck and shoulders. Then after about a year it moved into my head and then a few months later my chest. I now have problems with my legs and hips. It has been almost 2 years for me as well. It can start in one area and then move through the rest of your body. I still have a lot of problems with my arms. I would check with your Dr. and see if he will get an MRI done of your hips. What types of medication are you on? Have you been on Prednisone for a long period of time recently or in past years? Take care and God bless!

Fibromyalgia is part of the whole disease. You may also be experiencing Myofascila Pain Syndrome which refers pain to other points in the body. Ask your doctor about this and see what he says. Look it up on the Internet, you can never have too much information.
