Sensitive Head

I have no idea if this is a fibro thing, but for a long time now i have been unable to touch my head without sending pain shooting through my face/the rest of my head. It often lingers too, even if i just brush the skin lightly, and it is worse on my temples than the sides of my head. Anyone else have this/know what it might be?

Hello,
I have EXACTLY the same specific thing you're talking about and I'm trying to find out what it is, too.
I'm not sure if what I have is FMS, but my mom had polymyalgia(sp) and I seem to have all of the symptoms of FMS as I've researched it.
Unfortunately, I'm having trouble getting a diagnosis from my local doctors, as all I complained about were the facial/head sensitivity problems you described, as well as my migraines (I've had migraines for over 40 years) and extreme dizziness/equalibrium off. I forgot to tell them my fingers are tingly.
Anyway, if you've find out any other reason for the facial sensitivity, worse in the temples, please let me know what the cause is......I'm really reaching out for help.
Thnx!
~Janet

i HAVE BEEN HAVING A SORE SCALP FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS I SEEN 3 DOCTORS FOR THIS WITH NO ANSWERS. I FINALLY SEEN A RHUMATOLIGIST WHO DIAGNOSED ME WITH FIBRO. THE SCALP IS A MUSCLE AND IT WAS SPASMING ON ME IT FINALLY GOT SO BAD I ENDED UP IN ER WITH WORST PAIN AND HEADACHE EVER. MUSCLE RELAXERS AND DIAZIPAM IS WHAT I TAKE NOW TO KEEP IT AT BAY.

I have been suffering from this for years, had brain scans etc.. But it is part of Fibro. The pressure in my head is unbelievable and the headaches WOW shocking. Does anyone else have this pressure, feels like I need to drill a hole in my head to let pressure out.

I don't have shooting pains in the head but do have sensitivity in some areas, mainly around the temples and around the back of the head close to the neck area. I have found that when I get my hair cut, the shampoo person can't give me one of those massage-type shampoos because it brings on an excruciating headache within minutes. Although not included in the list of "pressure points", I think there are a lot more than the ones that are mostly talked about. When pressure is applied to my temples and back of the head, I feel quite a bit of pain and I really believe that is due to the fibro.

TAKE CARE KATHY

Gabbie - September 18

Hi Kathy, I'm ok, hanging in, ya know? Still determined to keep upbeat. Symptoms are flaring up and I'm hurting these days. but I'm still plodding along. Change in temperature/seasons. Happens every time, but hopefully it will let up a bit. Still won't let this fibro win. Thanks for asking. Hope you are doing ok yourself.
