Savella - new medication

Hi,

My PCP told me about Savella. I was wondering if anyone is taking it.

Savella has been used in Europe for decades. There it is known as "Milnacipran." It was approved for use in the USA by the FDA in March 2009.

I tried it and had an adverse reaction. I'm extremely sensitive to medication so I almost was not surprised. I did feel better for the short time that I was on Savella so I was quite disappointed. Take care.

I am taking Savella. It has worked well for me. I took Lyrica originally and it made me nuts, literally. The Savella helps with the tingling and numbness in my hands and feet and helps with the pain some days. Without it, I have a hard time functioning every day, but with it, I can still get through.

I am starting savella today. I have a two week trial packet.

I have been on Savella for about 6 months and it has helped me tremendously. I no longer have to nap at work and have been able to decrease my pain medication. I did have to increase the dose at a slower rate than is recommended. It took me twice the amount of time to get to the max dose but have been there for quite a while.

Good luck to you. I hope you get some relief.

They had me on it for a short time.. unfortunately it shot my bp sky high. It is a good med for some but like any med there are pluses and minuses.
