Running out of patience

I've been dealing with chronic pain for the last 4 months. I'm am so run down at this point. The doctor gave me an anti-depressant to help me sleep. I've been on it for a little over a week. I felt a little better but the back pain is back. he told me to take tylenol arthritis even though I told him that, motrin, aleve..basically all the otc pain meds weren't working. Just wondering if you have any suggestions and whether I should find another doctor.

I think you should get a second opinion. My doctor has me on Meloxicam, Lyrica and an antidepresant. Im leaning more to all natural ways but, Im still looking. Good Luck hope you get some relief.

See if there is a local fibromyalgia support group and if so maybe they can recommend a rheumatolgist that is more supportive of fibromyalgia sufferers.

It never is a bad idea to get that second opinion. It is your health. If you live in Ohio I have two doctors that I see and they are very good. Just let me know if you would be interested in the names. I would be happy to tell you about them.

I found out my fibro is actually Lyme disease. When I went on clindamycin antibiotic for that bacterial infection, all the fibro pain went to zero in one week. So I suggest you find a Lyme-treating doctor and get tested and do a clinical trial of antibiotics to see if your fibro pain drops too. The folks at www.lymenet.org/FlashDiscussion/FindingADoctor can help you find one.
