Does any one else have this happen to them? I went to see my brother and he was having carpet replaced, the fumes threw me into a complete episode of chronic fatigue and muscle cramps shortness of breath etc. It was the second time in a month that I visited, the first time there was no new carpet but there was very hot days. after several days there I had a reaction, I also thought maybe it was the airconditioner in the car. now after the second visit I'm not sure if the carpet or the heat was the culprit!!!!!! anyone have any similar problems??

Yes, new carpet has something which I think is called "off-gassing". That means that the fumes are coming out of the new carpet. It's really bad for causing allergic reactions. We bought new patio furniture a few years ago, made from a poly (plastic) product. It was woven like wicker, so there was a lot of this stuff. I couldn't go outside near the furniture for weeks... until it finished off-gassing. I have to be very careful with cleaning products, facial products, etc. I do believe that allergies are consistent with a diagnosis of FM.
