Post 0p Recovery

Kristin A. - April 10

I had a laparascopic hysterectomy 2 weeks ago. I see my surgeon on 4/15 and I believe he will want to release me back to work. I am also getting pressure to return to work (I'm an RN) by my manager as I only had "laparascopic" surgery.
Does anyone have any evidenced-based, written documentation that FM patients require a longer recovery period?

Try this site - it has some good information. I just googled "post op recovery fibromyalgia."

I don't have anything written, but you can certainly add my testimony to the list. For what it's worth, I am a very busy, active 40 y/o bank manager. I suffered for several months from a symptomatic, underactive gall bladder before I finally had it removed laparascopically in February. Even though I went back to work after two weeks, I still didn't really feel up to par until about 6-8 weeks later. And even now, I still get tired easily. I absolutely believe it is becuase of the fibromyalgia that my recovery time took longer than others. Hope that helps!
