Possible Fibromyalgia
2 Replies
Susan - August 8

I was recently involved in a rear in car crash. The person that hit me was driving too close at a high rate of speed. I began suffering from low back pain, plus severe trigger point pain in my left hip, thigh down to my knee. The pain would wake me up. Also had Cat Scan due to severe digestive problems, unable to digest food, irritable bowel, no solid bowel movements, trouble sleeping. I have severe fatigue and neck and shoulder problems due to whip lash. The cat scan discovered a droop in my colon. I can only eat soft foods and take fiber. I fall asleep easily during the day and I'm unable to work at this time. I suspect I may have fibromyaliga and told my doctor...I have not received an answer on testing me for this disease. My doctor recommended a gastro interologist to diagnose my problems. Help!

I'm so sorry that you are suffering so badly. It can take years to get a fibro diagnosis, lots of doc's think its BS. there are people out here that care about you. take care of yourself & try not to worry too much it will just make you feel worse ;)

You should see a rheumatologist for FMS. They can rule out other causes for your symptoms and through a process of elimination, make a FMS diagnosis if that is what you have. A co-worker's wife has FMS resulting from a car accident similar to yours. Her pain is much worse, much more intense than mine. She gets relief from chiropracters and therapuetic massages. Good luck.
