Osteoporosis Medication/Fibromyalgia
3 Replies

I have tried to take Actonel, Alendronate and Evista, but all three caused a flare up of my Fibromyalgia. Has anyone had better luck with other medications?

Seems like over the last several years i've tried just about everything you can think of including a list of antidepressants.. but the only medicine that has helped me is Neurontin(Gabapentin)... I am presently taking 600mg 3 times a day.. It sounds like alot i know and was fightening to me to be taking such a high dosage. Before i started taking this med. wasn't able to stand still long enough to brush my teeth due to severe knee pain..also pain all over has improved.. I was having pain in shoulders, neck, knees and buttocks.. I still have some pain.. beleive me but it's been greatly reduced. I reccomend you ask your doctor about this medicine.. and best of luck to you

I have taken Actonel for several years. It has not changed my fibromyalgia symptoms for better or worse.

I have tried many things but, Ultram works the best for me. I have taken it for 10 years and have had few problems. I wouldn't be able to function without it! Darlene
