numbness

i have fibromyalgia and have a recent attack which frightened me, my right shoulder went into spasm and left me with the feeling of a dead arm.also my right thumb and heel of my hand has went numb, like an injection feeling, its very dibilitating, frustrating and worrying i have no doctor who is interested or recognises this illness. my question is, is this numb wierd feeling a symtom of fibromyalgia or should i be worried over something else, one doc suggested it was the muscle spasm crushing a nerve???????

I have numbness and tingling in my arms and sometimes loose feeling down one side of my body. I have been to a doctor who I have confidence in and he said it was likely to be due to the fibromyalgia as it is a recognised symptom. I just try to stay away from dangerous things like boiling water as when in that state as I would feel if I was being burnt. Hope thats of some help.
