Not yet diagnosed . . .

Hi everyone! I have nearly every symptom of Fibromyalgia . . . no one seems to take my pain/complaints seriously. I know this is a very broad question, but where do I begin? I don't want to be a guinea pig at the doctor's office (who does!), but I want them to take this seriously. Any suggestions? Thank You

You need to find a doctor who takes you seriously and will do tests for other illnesses that have the same symptoms of fibro.

ask for a referral to a rhumatologist, thats how i got diagnosed

Hi Jennifer T....Luckily for me I do not need referrals and I took it upon myself to see a rheumatologist and was diagnosed on my first visit and had it confirmed on my second visit after he got back the blood test results to rule out other illnesses. If the first rheumy doesn't take you seriously go to another! Just keep trying till you find one that listens and understands. Good luck! Brandy

Yes, go to a rhuematologist because they will diagnose you with FM if that is what you have.
