Not sure if I have Fibromyalgia

My doctor says I have tendinitis but I have had this chronic pain for years. I'm not sure if I have Fibromylagia so I'd like to know if others have the same symptoms: sore right arm from shoulder to fingers; weakness (can't carry or wring things out); tingling fingers; sensitive lump on palm of hand (lower left side)

Funny you should ask....I had the same symptoms and thought my carpal tunnel syndrome had returned. Went to my doctor and had nerve conduction tests done only to find out that "my numbers were better than the doctors" and I no longer have CTS. The doctor referred me to a neurologist thinking it could be a pinched nerve in my neck. THAT doctor did a complete blood panel and full body bone scan. That scan showed that I have osteoarthritis in both shoulders but everything else came back fine. He was at a loss. Fortunately for me, he had recently attended some seminar and one of the topics was FM. He got the checklist out, read the symptoms to me and I answered yes to 22 of 25 questions. He told me he thought I had FM but referred me to a rheumatologist. I saw him the next week and he confirmed that I have FM. That was 9 months ago and I honestly don't feel much better. I am seriously considering finding another doctor because my current one only treats the symptoms (anti-inflammatory drugs, Elavil to sleep) and I want to do whatever I can to make the symptoms less and less. If you feel your doctor is writing off your concerns, it's time to get a second opinion. Good luck!
