I am a new mom and i am having constant severe back and leg pain. My doctor will not put me on anything until i stop breastfeeding. Does anyone have any suggestions i can try until then?
Thanks! :)

Take a look at some homeopathic remedies. Devils Claw or Arnica is supposed to be good for pain. I hope you feel better soon.

You need to still check with your doc on homeopathic or "natural" remedies as they can be just as dangerous to a breastfed baby as other meds your doctor doesn't want you taking. Can you take ibuprofen when breastfeeding? Don't know if that will provide any or enough relief to you. My doctor always encourages me to do low impact exercises. I know it is hard to get up and exercise when you don't feel good, but if you can bear it it may help in the long run. Do you have a pool you can use for water aerobics?

I forgot to mention that some holistic doctors use a derivative of the pitcher plant called "Sarapin" ( Google this) to treat pain. It is non-toxic. I have had tigger points treated using this stuff and it does work. You'll probably have to make a bunch of phone calls to find someone. You might also try a doctor called a "physiatrist" - they develop exercise programs for people with injuries particularly lumbar. I found one that uses Sarapin. It took about a week but I feel better than I have for awhile. Good luck to you.
