Myalgia and Myositis

my Ruemotologist put that down in my medical file and wants me to get 2 kinds of bloodwork to check for inflamation, I did some research on line, and it says Zocor can cause this problem, I have been taking Zocor for over 3 yrs. Does anyone have these problems.

Never heard of them before, but if I remember correctly, "myo" means muscle "algia" means pain syndrome and "itis" means inflammation. I haven't taken Zocor before. I don't know if I have inflammation but I'm sure between my bone disease and fibromyalgia I have both. I like treating my pain with 12-16mg Dilaudid and 200mg Celebrex.

my dr ordered the same blood tests, for the same reasons, I take Zocor and have been for over 5 yrs. I am going to stop taking it for awhile just to see if it could be it, I am also going for the bloodwork just to see if I have any inflamation, there was a guy from the singing group the O'Jays, he was being treated for myositis, found out he has MS and now I am terrified. Please update us as I will also update you. my next app't is in Aug so I hope the Dr does call with a results of the blood work, I plan on going on this coming Monday. Good luck
