Muscle Twitches Developed After Surgical Hysterectomy

I had a total hysterectomy in Aug. 2012. Since then, I have developed random muscle twitches all over my body. This week, I have also developed tingling in my feet. Has anyone else experienced this and what was the cause?

Hi dkhines -- I just put up a post titled Checklist. Your symptoms, muscle twitching and pain or tingling in the soles of the feet are two symptoms that are mentioned as being part of the Lyme Disease picture. Something to think about… If you google the checklist I mentioned, you might also find other symptoms you've had - it's worth a look, and if it's relevant you can discuss it with your doctor. (You should mention the symptoms to your doctor, in any case.)

Some people think you can have Lyme bacteria (or other bacteria from an insect bite) lying dormant in your body - an outbreak can be triggered by a stressful event like surgery, or something else that depresses your immune system.

Hope you find out what the problem is! And come back and share with us if you learn something new.

Thanks. Yes, I will mention this to my doctor.
