Can a MRI scan diagnose fibomyalgia?

ralph - February 3

no. not from what i have read on this topic. i have been researching this for nearly 10 years. i always thought i possibly had it back nearly 10 years ago. i had mri's of the neck, lumbar, and brain, also emg. all these were pretty much normal. i have read that fibro. is a diagnosis of exclusion. they usually rule out all other possible things before you get a diagnosis. you also could have fibro with some other underlying conditions. i had autoimmune tests done also 8 years ago and then a repeat this past october. all was normal there too. talk to your doctor and his/her opinion. some doc's brush it off. one neuro opthomologist i went to see told me fibromyalgia was a nothing diagnosis. i told my wife it's easy to say that when you are not the one suffering with it. good luck and God bless.
