Middle back pain??
Walter - August 31

For a while I have been seeing various physicians with fibromyalgia-like complaints. All tests so far - extensive bloodwork, EMG, neurological exam, nerve conductivity studies, etc... are normal.

The area of worst pain for me is the middle back - either side of the spine radiating around to the front, following the ribs. It often hurts severely for several days and makes it difficult to walk normally, turn around, etc... The pain feels like severe tightness, but is also accompanied by pins/needles and crawling/twitching sensations.

Can anyone relate to this? Especially to the 'other' sensations?

Thank you,

Walter

Hi Walter. Have you tried getting an MRI?

Hi Walter, sorry to hear that you are such pain. Have you ever been checked out for costochondritis? That causes pain in your back and rib cage area. Also, MS causes something called the MS hug. Have you ever been checked for MS? MS and fibromyalgia have a lot of the same symptoms. I get the back pain, I am very sensitive in my rib cage and I have the pins and needles and the creepy crawling feelings. I have had Fibromyalgia for many years but am now seeing an MS specialist. I hope you get to the bottom of what is causing you this discomfort soon. Not knowing for sure is the worst thing. Good luck!
