Lyrica and placebo

There was a news story on TV about 6 months-1 year ago stating that Lyrica was no more effective than a placebo at treating firromyalgia. Is this true. Does anyone remember the story? If so, please reply. Thanks.

I read reports on that as well. Even though it was the first drug specified for the treatment of FM, there were studies that showed it was no more effective at reducing the pain associate with FM than the placebo.

I never got the opportunity to find out. All it did was give me a crazy headache and made me feel woozy and generally out of it.

Lyrica works well for many FMS and chronic pain patients but It never did anything positive nor negative for me. Maybe I just wasn't on a high enough dose. I was on 75mgs bid.

I tried lyrica and I didn't do well. I was still in pain and it got me to put on lots of weight. Still have it to this day.

I cannot say for sure, but if I remember correctly the effectiveness for lyrica, cymbalta and others is about only 65%. At best, it helps with the symptoms, but doesn't do better... That's why we have a whole bag of poison to go with it.
