Lori D - August 4

Looking for a dr. in the Kansas City metro area who will treat FMS. I'm currently using some pain meds and some supplements from health food store. Have seen 4 drs this year - none satisfactory

How about calling your local hospital physician referral service to see who they might recommend? They may also know of a support group in your area which could give you some help. Most of us have bounced from one doctor to another. I think part of the frustration comes from the simple fact that no one knows how to cure FMS. It seems to affect everyone differently to some degree so there is no pat answer as to what to do about it.. It sounds like you have been pretty pro-active already which is good. I use a mix of conventional and holistic medicine which seems to work fairly well. And, I am always on the look out for new information. I also have a nutritionist who has been very helpful. Most holisitic doctors feel that FMS originates in the alimentary canal which harbors 80% of the immune system. Take care.

You could also you to the National Fibromyalgia Association website. They maintain a list of FMS friendly physicians which can be found under "resources."
Good luck with your search and take care.
