I've recently discovered something new, that i am thinking might be related, but not sure.

I kow about the muscle aches and all, but what if you feel like you're bruised all over? I came home from work, took off my clothes, and went to put on my pj's (elastic waist) and when i'm pulling them up, it hurt like nobody's business, very tender like when i have a bruise, and it was all over my thighs, so i took a look, and NO this yet another symptom? I also notice at night, when i'm rubbing lotion on my arms and stuff, that it hurts too.

Gosh, i'm sick of hurting all over.

Hi there, I can tell you for sure that your skin is very sensitive, especially when tired, like at the end of the day, also depending on the baromatic pressure, the more or less you get.

Yes, it is called allydonia and is very common among people with Fibromyalgia (FMS). I have it myself. Today was an uncomfortable day so I did not get dressed until late this afternoon to run an errand.

Go to your local health food store and ask them for Arnica gel. It is the homeopathic version of a sports rub. But, it is also good for swelling and bruising. Even though you don't have any bruises, it will help relieve some of the discomfort. I use it all of the time.

You should take come time and throughly read all of the information in the blue boxes on the lefthand side of this page. You will find a reference to allydonia under "associated conditions." Take care and enjoy the upsoming holiday weekend.

I have it in flares. Very strange, a couple of days ago it was a little spot on the top side of my forearm. A week ago it was a spot on my right buttock.

Very strange, and Fantod is correct, it's called allydonia, yet another gift from the FM Fairy.

It can be widespread or sparatic. It can lasts minutes to months.

I am so knowing where you are at. I am glad i am not the only one who feels like a Mack Truck has ran into me! If its not my fingers feeling tight but not swellen, then it is like I have mini bruises everywhere, when I do not. Wearing a Bra somedays is so uncomfortable that I layer my clothes. I have found that no one who does not experience FMS can even begin to understand... It is nice to have all of you out here to vent to and get new ideas and "hope" from! Thanks to all of you! Take Care!

Thanks for the input everyone, you know, what's weird, is, i never put all these individual symptoms together, one day it's this, next week, it's that, and until i got on here and started reading around, i see how it all fits together.

Had never heard of allydonia, i was thinking of the "bruised" feeling, but when i read more, i see the sensitivity of the skin, (can't wear clothes) and a light bulb went off, whenever i get sick (bronchitis, pnuemonia, sometimes migraine) i can't stand to have ANYTHING touch my skin, clothes are insanely painful, it hurts to blink, it hurts to comb my hair. But for the most part that only happens when i have another illness.
I seriously need to find a new dr...
