Is it a fibro symptom or something else?

I have found it to be very difficult to distinguish pain and discomfort as a result of a fibro flare or from something totally different. For the past year I have had groin/pelvic pain. After many visits to my family practioner and my gynecologist and not coming up with an accurate diagnosis, I chose to adjust my daily routine to baby this specific area. Ice compressions helped tremendously. The pain started to radiate along the hip and buttocks region. I started to walk with a limp. I immediately contacted an orthopedic doctor who immediately suspected a labral tear int he hip joint. Sure enough the MRI showed a superior labral tear. To make a long story short, I think it is important for all of us to take new pain seriously, and not always assume that the pain is due to our fibro diagnosis. It is unfortunate I had to go thru so many appt., but i was determined something else was going on. Know your body!

Thank you. You know you are so right. It does not neccesarily mean that it is fibro. But also at the same time our doctors maybe blind to the fact also. As you explained. I find that kind of frighting. Everytime its something new and I tell my doc. He just blows it off as a new fibro pain Im having. I will be sure to ask him to double check and make sure now that youve mentioned it. Thanks again!:)
