In so much pain and feeling so low.

fibromite.u.k. - May 9

Hi, It is hard to know what to say about my pain just now, but it is so bad all over me and I just don't know how I am going to carry on with pain like this all the time. It hurts so much just to move, and it burns, it is hell when it is this bad. I am on pregabalin (lyrica) and have been for over two years and until recently it has helped a lot, but now the pain is as bad as before I was put on it. I know that I can take a higher dose of it, but it makes me so tired, so I know that if I take more, it will mean I am asleep nearly all the time so I really don't know what to do. I was told I could take up to 300mg per day and at present take 75mg at night and 50mg in the morning. Added to all my other problems, it is becoming so hard to try to smile and think positive like everyone tells me I should. I am deaf in one ear and the other ear is not great, and I have so many problems. Sorry to sound so miserable and to be rambling on, perhaps all I need is some understanding and a few kind words. I am crying now, so will finish off. Gentle hugs to you all.

fibromite.u.k. I'm so sorry your feeling so bad. Some times the stress from people telling you to think positive in such a bad situation is stressful enough. When I'm feeling like you are. I remind myself It will change, nothing ever stays the same, that's one thing I can guarantee on in life.

Hugs and Blessings to you.

Have you asked your doctor about Savella?

Hi Englishrose, noca, jrzgirl and wildwithch, thank-you so much for your kind words. It makes a difference to hear kind words, it makes such a difference. The pain is more tolorable now, simply because I have rested up since I wrote before, but the tiredness is still as bad, I am sleeping really well, yet don't feel any more refreshed after it, it is mid-afternoon, I am not yet dressed and just feel that I want to go back to bed for more sleep. My head feels fuzzy and I really can't concentrate at all. In answer to your question about Savella, Wildwitch, we don't have it in the U.K. The only thing for fibro over here is Lyrica. I am seeing the rhumatolagist on Wednesday as they have discovered I have a blood clotting disorder he wants to tell me about, but when I mention fibro to him, he doesn't really say much, I don't think he knows what to do about it, even though he agrees that I have it. He said I have all 18 tender points. Getting any help for it here feels like banging my head against a brick wall. At least I can talk about it on this forum. I am so glad to have found it.

You shuld be able to get Savella in the UK. It was available in Europe for decades prior to being approved for use in the USA. It is also called "milnacipran" - probably how it is known it Europe. Ask your doctor about milnacipran and see if that makes a difference. Take care.

Hi Fantod, I have checked up on this and Savella is not yet approved for release in the U.K. although it is in other European countries. I don't think it would be of much help to me however as it is contraindicated with hypertention and restless legs, both of which I have. It is good talking to you.
