Hi, I'm new here and I'm not sure if I have Fibromyalgia. I have pain all the time in my neck,my arms, my shoulders, my hips,my legs,my feet.. Almost everywhere..Where did you start to try and find out what this was? I try to just deal with it at work but when I get home I don't want to do anything because it's so painful.. Thanks for any help you can give..

You need to make an appointment to see a rheumotologist. Good luck and take care.

Hi irisheyesny - Fibromyalgia consists of many different symptoms. One of them is chronic pain that affects all 4 quadrants of the body, which it sounds like you are dealing with. A rheumatologist is the best doctor for you to see to get a diagnosis. Because Fibro mimics a lot of other diseases (Lupus, MS, etc) usually a doctor will rule everything else out before diagnosing FMS.

What are all your symptoms? Maybe we can help you if we knew everything you are dealing with. But of course, you should make an appointment with the specialist or even your GP. You can also read through the blue boxes on the left side of this page, there's a lot of good information on this site.

One thing you should know is that over the counter medications (like Tylenol, Motrin, and aleve) don't work for Fibro sufferers. You need to get to the doctor ASAP so you can get on a prescription regimen to alleviate some of your symptoms. The sooner you can get to a doctor and get diagnosed, the better.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. Take Care, Stacey :o)
