How to stay awake?
old lady - March 10

I am 70 in April. If I take an Ambien at night I used to wake up refreshed and stay awake. Now I have to nap about 1 hr. after I eat breakfast. I just cannot stay awake. I nap for 2 hrs. And sometimes in the afternoon for 2 hrs.
Is there a pill to stay awake in the morning? Or tea maybe. I'm not suppose to have caffeine.
Have any of you been able to take an plane trip? I wanted to take a trip to Montreal, Quebec from Wi. but don't know if I could stay awake while visiting? I would have to have a wheel chair at the airport for all the running or walking one has to do.

I'm 52 and have been napping quite a bit. Could beat you on some days! For me, some was due to pain pills and some to just pure lack of deep sleep common to FMS patients. It's gotten a little better lately because a blood test showed I was severely anemic. But, I'm about to sign off of here and go take one now!!! I find just trying to move around - though it hurts - will wake me up some.

I just started taking Provigil for severe fatigue. It has helped a lot. I have more energy during the day and I don't need to nap. I take it in the early am so it wears off by bedtime. The only side effect I seem to have while taking it is a slight headache and I believe it dulls my appetite which for me, isn't a bad thing, lol. Take care, Brandy
