hi nellie im sorry to say that there is no test for FM its diagnosed by sypmtoms and the 18 points of pain which you will find on this site. please dont feel as if itd the end of the world and that life is not worth living. you nedd to speak to your GP and get him to put you on a mild antidepressant. it will take the edge of your mood and it can help with the pain management. i have degeneration of spine discs since an accident as a nurse. im 47 with a grown family and a puppy!!!!! if you want to contact me via email then its debs_kane@yahoo.co.uk.
i hope that this might give you some light in your dark world x
