Help - My husband does not sleep
5 Replies
no sleep in CA - August 27

My husband has widespread pain but most routinely he experience significant burning in neck and shoulder areas. He also is having extreme difficulty sleeping. He was recently diagnosed with severe sleep apnea but the CPAP does not seem to keep him sleeping. He also has tried various medications and they only seem to make him tired during the day but he still cannot sustain sleep.

I've been taking valerian root (available at just about any health store or megamart). It's really helping me stay asleep. Good luck!

Well, the best advice I have is a calcium and magnesium regimend. The normal dosage I've seen is about 1200mg of calcium to about 400-500 of magnesium. Everyone's body is differently. But the typical ratio for good absorbtion is 2:1.5. The calcium not only makes you sleepy in large doses, but helps maintain sleep and gives you a refreshed feeling in the morning. The magnesium is there to help you absorb the high dose of calcium. This combination will also help for high blood pressure, IBS and other stomache related issues.

Perhaps your husband's Cpap needs the pressure ramped up? My husband has had to adjust his to get optimal results. Best of luck to you.

Weird, but works for so many, wear eye mask and ear plugs to block out all light and all sound at your head. Worth a try and very inexpensive.
