Got to have op to remove lump in my finger.

I have been told at the hospital today that I need to have an operation to remove a hard lump that has been growing inside the skin of my finger (between the two knuckle joints) for all of this year. I will have it on December 2nd and it will be a local aneasethic. They are also going to do a biopsy on the lump. I just wondered if anyone else has had anything similar done and what it is like. How painful and how long it takes to get back to normal. The doctors don't seem to really know what the lump is and I have no idea either. It is very hard, but doesn't hurt.

I have lumps(bone tumors) all over my body, including my fingers. I was referred to a plastic surgeon for this 9 months ago but havent even so much as heard back from them yet for an appt time.

If your tumor is bone then it is the most painful type of surgery as far as I know. I've had 4 bone surgeries so far. Good luck.
