Hi gavin. I'm new here. yes my tongue does look like that but it also hurts. i call them sores i guess. they come and go on a weekly basis. how long have you had yours and does it hurt?. does it ever go away? i was diagnosed with fm in 2001 when i was 24. this tongue thing just started in may. i was pregnant at the time with my second child and at first i thought it was related to that. but its been 7 weeks now and they are still there. did any of your docs offer any solutions?

Tongue thing has never really caused me any trouble until leasions on the side of the tongue become so bad that they break surface skin so acids etc hurt, similar to a mouth ulcer. Have had the tongue thing as long as I can remember and I was hoping it ma be an early indicator for doctors to use in assessment but seems to be Im getting very few positive responses yet. No solutions as such offered because as the old saying goes if it aint broke dont fix it, and their initial reaction was not I know what to do about that, but "what the hell is that?" lol

Hope yours isnt causing you any pain. I have found that the more balanced my digestive system is (abdominal with anti-oxidents and acidophilus) the better the tongue gets. Conversely gets worse with dehydration. Hope its not causing you any pain. Chin up. Gavin

I looked at the website, and maybe my screen wasn't too good, but I couldn't figure out what was different about the tongue. Can you describe the "tongue thing"?

Generally a white appearance on top either smooth or rough edged pattern, toungue lesions, particularly on the side with give irregular shape to tongue.
