first rheumy appt

My first rheumatologist appt went very well. He ordered xrays of my feet/ankles and lower back. There is a lot of psoariasis in my family and even though I don't have it he did say there is a chance I could have Ankylosing Spondylitis. So I'm waiting for the results from the xrays as well as the labs he ordered.

He started the to check my tender points and the first 3 hurt so bad he said he wouldn't put me through the rest. So at this point he wants me to stay on the savella and lyrica, he has added flexeral 1 before bed to hopefully help me sleep and 800 mg of advil 3 times a day. Once we get the results of the xrays/labs the treatment plan may change. I really liked him, he was very thorough. It was a very encouraging appt! Just thought I would share.

Is anyone familiar with Ankylosing Spondylitis or does anyone have it. I'm just researching and trying to get more info about it.

Hello dkarssen79, I am happy that you had a good appointment with the rheumy. It's the first key piece of finding a treatment symptom that will work for you.

I am hoping that all goes well, when you get your results.

I don't know much about Ankylosing Spondylitis, my brother in-law has this, he says it's herederaty, there are times in the year that really goes awry for him, most of the times, the medication takes care of the inflammation thus resulting in less pain.

Giving you HUGS, keep that smile on your face, it's not all that bad, once you know what you have and getting proper treatment for it.
