Fibromyalgia of peri-menopause?

How can you be sure if you have fibro. or is it peri-menopause. Almost all of the symptoms overlap? Anyone think they had fibro. and find relief after menopause?

I too am peri-menapausal, have been for 6 years. For a long time I figured my symptoms were due to that. 2 years ago I finally told my Dr. everything. Had tests to rule out other illnesses (including thyroid) but got the final diagnoses of fibro. I often don't know what to attribute my fogginess, forgetfulness, etc to. I just know I feel like crap all the time & winter is the worst. Can't wait to get through menapause & hope that I'll feel a little better.

I don't know for a fact, but I don't think menopause causes all the trigger point pains, like fibromyalgia does. I think brain fog can be caused from fibro and/or menopause because I deal with both.

No, but we will keep an open mind.
