fibromyalgia and death
2 Replies
nlausch - October 6

I had a friend that suffered from scleroderma and fibromyalgia. He recently was in a car crash and the air bag impacted his chest. Two days later he died in his sleep. Might he have been more susceptible to an aneurism or heart attach because of his illness?

I am sorry for your loss. This must be very difficult for you and understanding what has happened is probably very important for closure. This is difficult to determine. I do not think Fibromyalgia played a part in his demies. The scleroderma I do not know about but the answer lies with his physician, maybe you could talk with him in more detail so you can get the proper information to help you continue into the future. Again, I'm sorry for your loss and wish I could help more.

It is hard to lose someone for no apparent cause. I am sorry for the loss of your friend. My cousin, just 18, died 2 weeks ago during a football warmup. They tried reviving him with the defibulator but couldn't. They did an autopsy and everything looked good except that his potassium was a little low. His Dr. said that sometimes this happens and it is very rare but the heart gets out of rhythm and the person just dies. Nothing could have been done to prevent it or to save him. Sometimes there is no answers, it was just his time. If you need to talk my e-mail is tonyab1838@yahoo.com. Take care of yourself and God bless! My thoughts and prayers are with you.
